Cut your mowing time
Twin hydrostatic drives let a zero turn pivot on the spot, so you trim around trees and garden beds in one pass and spend far less time doubling back.
Synchro Steer
Not sold on levers? Cub Cadet Synchro Steer models give you zero-turn speed with a steering wheel and four-wheel control.
Fabricated decks
Most of our zero turns use fabricated steel decks that stand up to Mackay's thick, fast-growing grass far better than stamped decks.
Zero turn vs ride-on vs compact
| Feature | Zero turn | Tractor-style ride-on | Compact ride-on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best on | Flat, open ground | Slopes, banks, rough ground | Small yards, tight gates |
| Steering | Levers (or Synchro Steer wheel) | Steering wheel | Steering wheel |
| Speed | Fastest | Steady | Steady |
| Towing | Light duty on some models | Yes — most models | Limited |
| Trimming | Turns on the spot | Wider turning circle | Nimble |
Is a zero turn mower good on slopes?
Zero turns are at their best on flat to gently sloping ground. For steeper banks, a tractor-style ride-on or a Synchro Steer model with four-wheel steering control is usually the safer choice — always follow the slope limits in your manual.
What is Cub Cadet Synchro Steer?
Synchro Steer gives you zero-turn manoeuvrability with a steering wheel instead of levers, controlling all four wheels for better stability. Cub Cadet ZTS, Z-Force SX, ZTXS and Pro Z S models use it.
Will a zero turn fit through my side gate?
Most zero turns are wide. The Cox LawnBOSS ZTR is only 940mm wide, so it fits through most backyard gates — measure your gate and we'll check models for you.
Residential or commercial zero turn?
Residential models suit home blocks and acreage. Commercial models like the Cub Cadet ZTX5, Pro Z and Worldlawn Cobra are built for contractors and heavy weekly use, with commercial warranties.
